In the last month, we have visited several restaurants and visited a new one for us.
We celebrated Art‘s birthday at Lecanto Texas Roadhouse. He had his favorite “roadkill” and I had a special salad with chicken. Consistently good food. Call ahead “online”.

We had dinner at Carabba‘s in Brooksville. Find this trip a much better ride than going all the way to Ocala. Food is pretty consistently good. We enjoyed the wahoo they had that night and lobster ravioli is good.
Don Pepe in Dunnellon has good Mexican.
We had a large party of 12 people for Crystal River La Casa Di Norma. They did a great job of accommodating our seating arrangements, drink and food orders: and the service was very good. The food was very good and the following items on the menu were ordered, ( all were happy but one who thought his veal tough.) It’s a very quiet, small restaurant and you cannot be in a hurry, because each meal is individually prepared. ORDERS: bolognese, lasagne, egg plant parm, chicken parm, pasta rigatoni, egg plant, special red snapper, seafood pasta, veal marsala, veal piccata, gnocchi, and linguine fruitti de mare. I also love the crab ravioli with shrimp. Quite a menu. Make a reservation.
Wallaces in Homosassa accommodated our party of 10, and again the service was good and the bills came out right! Several orders: fish and chips, salmon, pesto cod, and I had specialty salad with shrimp.
- W special salad with shrimp
- w salmon
- W fish fry (grilled)
- W pesto cod
Of course, always knew about the sports bar Norton’s. We did not realize that almost in the same building but next-door is Crystal River Norton’s Bayside Grill and we had a great fish dinner although the seafood platter is fried. They will serve other entrees grilled instead of fried. Nice and quiet inside …the music is outside.
- Norton Bayside fried seafood platter
- Norton nice caesar
We always enjoy going to Crystal River’s Seafood Seller where Art always has the mahi mahi I have the crab cake . Lloyd likes the gumbo. Joan likes the fried shrimp. And Judy likes the grouper sandwich.
For lunch, we continue to Beverky Hills New England Café (clam chowder Friday) , Hernando Jimmy T NY Deli (chicken soup and Boar’s Head’s meats) and Inverness/Hernando Cattledogs Roasters (pecan cranberry chicken salad.) We were returned to the Inverness Hen House and had a good Reuben there.
