Restaurant February 2025 Updates, Citrus County

We have started our month by returning to Taverna Manos, a Greek restaurant in Lecanto. We had not been there in a few years. KAREN and Mike ordered Tuscan dip and Haitian shrimp and I had Athena shrimp and Art had the special salmon. It was very good. It’s a nice quiet restaurant not many of those around Citrus County- usually pretty loud wherever we go.

Several of us returned it to the Wallace‘s Greenhouse (Homosassa).  The special that night- which most people ordered was swordfish. Lloyd and I enjoyed our lobster bisque.  Don had prime rib, Pam had grilled fish and chips, and I had mahi-mahi on a calypso salad.. Russ had a special grits dish that he enjoyed.  Worth the drive, food is gourmet and service is good.

For Valentine’s Day  we dined at  Cajun Jimmy’s Seafood Seller in Crystal River. The clam chowder is very good. Lloyd enjoys the gumbo. I had a good crab cake. Art had his usual mahi-mahi. Joan and Lloyd the red snapper.  Don, fried shrimp, Judy, the grouper sandwich. Pat grouper dinner.  Food and service very good.

We returned to Crystal River’s   Bayside Kraft Kitchen and I enjoyed the St. Louis ribs. Art had the mahi-mahi and he liked it. Mike had a couple of appetizers, including  bbq shrimp and  a shrimp/crab cake. Art and Mike enjoyed the Caesar salad.

We returned to Lecanto’s Glory Days and Art had his usual meatloaf. I had the fish fry haddock. Karen had the Monte Cristo sandwich and Michael had boneless wings. We enjoy the food at Glory Days and the service is usually pretty good and prices are very reasonable.

We continue to eat lunch at Jimmy T’s NY Deli; New England Cafe and Cattledog Roasters.  I also enjoyed the fried shrimp at Culver’s.

Sunday Brunch at the Black Diamond Club is excellent.  Enjoying chef’s chicken salad and soups at lunch.
