This will be my last blog until September… technically taking the rest of the summer off. I wanted to leave with a Restaurant Blog since that seems to be pretty popular. We did check out a new restaurant called Three Sisters Springs Lounge and Restaurant in Crystal River.
At Three Sisters Springs Lounge and Restaurant Crystal River ( near intersection Fort Island Trail and 19.) I had the lightly battered shrimp with coleslaw, hush puppies, baked potato, all very good. It was Taco Tuesday and Art had three beef tacos. Mike had the chicken barbecue flatbread …it was OK has had better. Karen tried the fried grouper . She thought the breading was a little too thick, but the fish was good, baked potato, hush puppies and coleslaw. We had a very nice waiter. (352) 228-4066

We were returned to La Casa Di Norma (Crystal River) and we enjoyed lasagna, lemon chicken, veal marsala and the special fish of the day. Consistently good service and good food.
We went to Backwater Fins in Ozello. We all had the senior portion of haddock fingers. Good coleslaw, and they still have the best clam chowder! And for a senior portion, I still could not eat all the haddock fingers!
We returned to the Crystal River Crab Plant after many years of not being there. I had the crab cakes. They were pretty good. Shrimp was good and the haddock also.
Truly, a gourmet restaurant is Lecanto’s Katch 22. The crab cakes are delicious ! I would say best around. Art and I split the chopped salad it is very good. They easily accommodated the 12 in our group. GROUP ordered: Lobster & Scallop Agnolotti (ravioli) pork chop, steak, cauliflower veggie dish, short ribs, shrimp and pasta.
We ventured to Brooksville to the Bonefish Grill. Nice bread basket they bring to the table, and of course, Wednesday is bang bang shrimp for seven dollars! Art and I could not eat it all the shrimp. We brought shrimp home for the next day‘s appetizer. We split the Chilean sea bass, roasted potatoes and coleslaw. Mike had scallops and shrimp in mango salsa and and Karen had the Bonefish salad.
Dan’s Clam Stand Crystal River never seems to disappoint. I had the lightly battered shrimp. Mike had peel and eat shrimp. Fresh Maine lobster is a speciality. Art and Karen had the grouper finger basket and I had ki
Bangkok Thai in Beverly Hills: I’ve lost my taste for Thai food, but a group of us went there Friday. Art and I split the vegetable rolls and split the Seafood pad Thai. The rest of the gang had vegetable or spring’s rolls, shrimp fried rice, cashew nut chicken, stir fry seafood fried rice and sweet-and-sour chicken. Two people had the fancy chicken one did not like it and has ordered it almost every time he visits . This time he was very disappointed in it. Busy restaurant, but good service .
For lunches, we went to Jimmy T‘s and had a Cuban. We do like that Cuban there. We always try on Friday go to New England Café for the clam chowder and tuna melt. We tried the lemon meringue and apple pie and they were OK.
Crystal River: Had lunch at Norton’s for the first time in many many years. Chicken quesadilla was good as was the reuben. Very popular night spot with music.
